Con-fused Solves the EICR Waiting Problem — Same-Day Certificates Now Available Across Essex and London
Seventeen areas. One day. A new same-day EICR service from Con-fused is removing one of the most frustrating bottlenecks in the private rental market.
📍 Essex, United Kingdom🗓 February 2026⚡ Electrical Compliance
For anyone who has ever had a tenancy stall because an EICR certificate was still sitting in a queue, Con-fused has a direct answer. The Essex-based electrical compliance company has launched a same-day EICR certificate service — booking in the morning, inspection completed, certificate issued, all before the day ends.
The service is now live across seventeen locations spanning Essex, East London and the wider South East. It is aimed squarely at landlords, letting agents and property managers for whom waiting three, five or seven days for an inspection report has repeatedly meant delayed lettings and frustrated tenants.
17 Areas now served with same-day EICR certification — from Colchester to Croydon, Braintree to Bromley

The Problem Con-fused Is Fixing
England’s mandatory EICR framework has made electrical inspection certificates a non-negotiable part of letting a property. Landlords must hold a valid report — renewed at minimum every five years or at each change of tenancy — and provide a copy to tenants before a new tenancy begins. Failure to comply carries civil penalties of up to £30,000.
The compliance obligation is clear. The operational reality has been less convenient. Booking an EICR inspection and receiving the signed certificate has historically been a multi-day process, creating friction at the exact moment landlords need things to move quickly — when a property is vacant, a tenant is ready to move in, and every idle day represents lost rental income.
Con-fused’s same-day service eliminates that gap entirely. Engineers are dispatched locally, inspections are conducted to the full standard of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), and certificates are issued digitally the same day. The entire process — from booking to compliance — is completed in hours, not days.
“Every landlord we speak to has experienced the frustration of a delayed certificate holding up a tenancy. We’ve engineered our entire operation around removing that delay. The inspection is thorough, the certificate is legally compliant, and the landlord has it in their inbox the same day they called us.”— Spokesperson, Con-fused
Coverage: Seventeen Areas, One Consistent Standard
The same-day service is currently active across the following areas. Each location is covered by engineers who know the local property market and are available for same-day dispatch:
The coverage map follows the natural flow of Essex’s rental market — from the county’s administrative centre in Chelmsford through the Thames Estuary towns of Southend, Leigh-on-Sea, Benfleet and Basildon, out to Colchester and Braintree in the north, and into the high-density London commuter belt through Brentwood, Billericay and Romford. Across the Greater London boundary, engineers cover the busy rental boroughs of Ilford, Barking, Dagenham, Harrow, Croydon and Bromley.
What the Inspection Covers
An EICR is not a visual check. A qualified engineer systematically tests the property’s fixed wiring, distribution boards, socket outlets, earthing arrangements and bonding connections, looking for deterioration, damage or deviation from current standards. Each finding is coded by urgency — from immediate danger requiring action before the property is re-let, through to observations that should be monitored over time.
Con-fused’s engineers hold NICEIC registration and carry out every inspection against the requirements of BS 7671. The resulting certificate is a legally recognised document that satisfies the requirements of the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020.
Booking
Same-day availability is subject to engineer capacity in the relevant area. Bookings made before 10am stand the best chance of securing a same-day slot. All pricing is fixed and published upfront — no call-out fees, no variable labour rates. The certificate is delivered digitally on the day of inspection.
